Egyptian Day

18th Jun 2024

Yesterday we had Egyptian gods, goddesses, pharaohs and our very own pyramid in primary 5. We measured and mixed different combinations of our own natron salt to see which one is best for mummification (drying out a piece of apple). We sampled different foods and drinks the ancient Egyptians would have had, but we weren't keen on the figs. We got our creative juices flowing, creating Egyptian silhouette paintings and teabag staining our cartouches, which contained our names in hieroglyphics. We created cat mummies in bronze sarcophagi (coffins) using masking tape. We became scribes during AR time and we finished off the day by busting out some Egyptian moves.
