Extreme Earth

25th Feb 2025

P6 have recently started their new  topic titled ‘Extreme Weather’.

As part of our exploration, the children have been thoroughly investigating the Earth’s extreme climates. This has involved learning about the hottest, wettest, coldest, and driest places on our planet. The students have shown great enthusiasm in discussing various extreme weather phenomena, including tropical storms, floods, lightning, hurricanes, and tornadoes. We have delved into the impacts these events can have on both people and the environment.

A significant aspect of our studies has included understanding the water cycle, which is fundamental to all weather phenomena. To bring this concept to life, we conducted an  experiment known as the 'Water Cycle in a Bag.' Each child had the opportunity to make their predictions/ hypotheses on what they anticipated would happen during the experiment. We will monitor our experiment and record our findings . Primary Six really enjoyed this investigative learning.
