Wellbeing Champions
At St MacNissi's Primary School,we believe it is important for pupils to have a voice. Our Wellbeing Champions contribute ideas on how to improve the wellbeing of pupils across the school.
The Wellbeing Champions work alongside Mrs McQuillan and school staff to help support the wellbeing of members of our school community through raising awareness of wellbeing activities.
Examples of activities include:
•Working closely with Miss Nevin (Wellbeing Lead) and Mrs Baxter to help to create an ethos and culture of positive mental health.
•Promote the Take 5 initiative throughout our school.
•Promoting positive behaviour across the school
•Supporting children to have fun and healthy play in the playground – helping with games and activities to encourage inclusion and positive interaction.
•Promoting Wellbeing activities.
•Championing and promoting wellbeing messages and events
•Collaborative working with other Wellbeing Champions across the school
The Champions play an essential role in being the voice for their year groups; sharing information across the other classes; helping to deliver Wellbeing assemblies; helping to host sports day and other events; and promoting Children’s Mental Health Week in November.
